School mail, the daycare app, the sports league — forward it once and it routes
there by itself. Snap a paper flyer. Paste a sign-up link. Send half a sentence from
the pickup line. It all counts.
2 · Morning and evening
Two briefings, both parents
A morning brief with what needs you today. An evening digest with tomorrow’s
setup and how each child’s day went. Closures and early pickups reach you within
the hour; everything else waits its turn. Silence is the point.
3 · Nothing expires quietly
The list remembers so you don’t
Every form, fee, spirit day and sign-up stays on the list until somebody ticks it
off — with the email it came from one tap away. Tick it on your phone and it
disappears from your partner’s list too.
We can’t read what you don’t send us. Most tools that read
your mail ask to connect to your whole mailbox — your bank, your doctor, all of it,
forever. FridayFolder has no such permission and cannot ask for one.
What we keep, and for how long.
Checking your session…
Set up FridayFolder
Calm briefings, for both parents. Setup takes about five minutes,
and the longest part is a step Gmail makes you do.
or
We’ll send a sign-in link. No password to invent or forget.
We never ask for your inbox password. You forward what belongs; we read it, deliver it,
and delete it. What we keep, and for how long.
Free for 30 days, then a monthly or yearly subscription.
Cancel any time from Settings, in two clicks, with no email to anybody.
If you were invited to the beta, your household is free — Settings will say which
applies to you. Terms.
FridayFolder isn’t open yet
You’re signed in as , but that address isn’t on the list yet. We’re running a small
beta with families we know.
If you were invited under a different address — a
work address, or the other one of your two — sign out and use that one instead.
This is how the briefing addresses you, and which clock it runs on.
Just the surname is fine. You can change it later.
Five digits, and only five digits. It puts the afternoon
forecast in your briefing — the four-to-seven window, when practice happens. Skip
it and everything else works exactly the same.
Morning Brief
Evening Digest
The Evening Digest is the full read: how the day went and the week ahead.
The Morning Brief is the quick one: the day ahead and what to pack. Compiling takes a few
minutes, so a 6:00 briefing usually lands between 6:00 and 6:15.
Skips weekends, school closures, and trips you log. If any child has
school, it still comes.
Your children
Names are how we tell whose field trip is whose.
The first box is the name we will use when we
write to you — whatever you actually call them. The second is any other name the
school might use: Katherine for Kate, Nathaniel for Nate. School systems use one and
teachers use the other, and knowing both is what stops a permission slip being filed
under the wrong child.
The school, teacher and class are optional, and they are the most useful optional
things you can tell us: an email signed only “Mrs. Ortiz” has nothing else
in it to say which child it is about.
Both of you get the same briefing, so neither of you has to forward it to
the other. They never have to sign in — reading it in their inbox is a complete way
to use FridayFolder. You can add them later in Settings if you would rather.
Your FridayFolder address
School mail gets forwarded here. It is private to your household, and it is
the only address we ever read.
@in.fridayfolder.ai
Getting info to FridayFolder
Anything you send us is read: forward an email from your
own inbox, share from the school’s app, snap a flyer, or paste a note. You can run
FridayFolder that way from day one.
For the best experience, we recommend automatic forwarding. It takes about
five minutes at a computer and you only do it once. Forward specific senders — the
school, the league, the daycare — or, if your child’s school gave you a
dedicated email account, forward that whole inbox.
Two things worth knowing. It has to be set up at a computer; the Gmail and
Outlook phone apps don’t offer forwarding. And it isn’t the same as handing us
your mailbox: we only ever see what’s forwarded, and each email is kept only until
the briefing that uses it has gone out. Privacy is one of our core tenets and our promise
to you — and it matters most where the information is about children.
Point your school mail here
One forwarding rule and the briefings start. Nothing else in your inbox is
touched, and we only ever read what you send here.
Do this on a computer. The Gmail and Outlook mobile apps do not offer
forwarding settings — only the full site does. Five minutes at a laptop, once.
Open the step-by-step
walk-through → One screen at a time, with pictures of the settings
pages. It stays available afterward, so you can finish this later or on another computer.
Does your school give you a separate parent address? Some do —
something like yourname@yourschoolparent.org. If that mailbox is only ever
used by the school, forward all of it and skip the filter below. Everything
arriving there is already school mail, and a filter can only lose things.
Open Gmail on a computer → gear icon → See all settings
→ Forwarding and POP/IMAP → Add a forwarding
address.
Paste the address above, click Next, then Proceed.
Google emails a confirmation link to it. That address has no inbox,
so we catch the link and put a button here for you.
Back in Gmail, leave the top setting on Disable forwarding. Then go
to Filters and Blocked Addresses → Create a new
filter, put your school’s address in From, and tick
Forward it to. Forwarding everything would send us your bank mail;
the filter is what keeps this to school only.
Open outlook.com on a computer → gear icon →
Mail → Rules.
Add new rule. Name it “School to FridayFolder”.
Condition: From → your school’s address.
Action: Forward to → paste the address above.
Tick Stop processing more rules, then Save.
Outlook usually forwards without a confirmation step. If it does send
one, it will appear here the same way.
Work or school Microsoft 365 account?
Your IT administrator may block automatic forwarding outside the organization. If the
rule silently does nothing, that is why — forward messages by hand for now, or ask
IT to allow this one address.
Most mail providers have forwarding under
Settings → Mail → Forwarding or
Settings → Rules. Yahoo, iCloud, Proton and Fastmail all do.
Forward only your school’s address, not everything.
Any confirmation email sent to your FridayFolder address will show up here.
No forwarding option at all? You can simply forward school emails by
hand whenever they arrive — the briefing works exactly the same way.
Your confirmation arrived
Watching for a confirmation from your email provider…
Gmail sends one and it will appear here. Outlook and most
others activate the rule right away with nothing to confirm — if that is you,
send yourself a test email from the school address, or just carry on.
Give it a head start
Optional, and you can do either of these later. But a briefing is only as
good as what it has read, and right now it has read nothing.
School-year calendars, team schedules, a photographed notice from a
backpack, the welcome packet PDF. Up to 3 MB each — PDF, images, .ics, or
saved emails.

One last step
Your school mail is flowing and your household is set up.
Start your free month and the briefings begin.
Payment is handled by Stripe on their own page. We never see your card number.
You’re set up
Setting up your first briefing…
Forward anything at any time — a photographed flyer, a PDF calendar, a
whole month of school mail as attachments. It all gets read.
One last thing. Save FridayFolder as a contact and your
briefings arrive as wanted mail, with our logo beside them instead of a gray letter.
Worth doing on each parent's phone.
